The first meeting of the 1964-65 season was held on October 20th 1964 at the Cathay House with President Don McKeen presiding.

The meeting was attended by 53 members and 7 guests. Jake Klassen was congratulated for his election as Region’s representative to the National Nominating Committee. Ian Paterson gave instructions to the new executive in what to do in case of an atomic attack. The guest speaker for the evening was Mr. Bob Rabjohn of the Trane company, Toronto. His topic was "Absorption Refrigeration".

At November’s meeting John Kennedy submitted the audited Treasurer's report which showed a bank balance of $1,843.15. The speaker for the evening was Mr. Bell on the "history of the reciprocating compressor".

At May’s meeting the following slate of Officers were elected in by the members:
President - G. Goodkey 
Vice-President - A. Oakes 
Secretary - J. Kennedy
Treasurer - G. McRae 
Board of Governors - B. Legare, G. Carscallen, & E. Fedelson

President Don McKeen thanked the various committees and executive for their help and turned the gavel over to the incoming president Gord Goodkey. President Gord Goodkey then presented past president Don McKeen with a certificate of appreciation and the past president's pin.

During this season the NHL adopts a rule requiring that two goalies be suited up for every game. The rule is introduced due to the long waiting time for spare goalies to do pads and warm up.
