The following is an edit from the Document entitled
Ottawa Valley ASHRAE Chapter "50 Years of History"
compiled by Frank Bann et al., June 2000

Chapter Meeting minutes are missing for this year, therefore the following is extracted from monthly newsletters and is assumed to be correct:

The Chapter Meetings continued at the Cathay House through this Chapter year.

October's meeting topic was "FANS". The speaker was J. Colin Orr, of Sheldons Engineering.

The topic for November's meeting was "Mechanical Aspects of Noise", speaker Dr. D. Allen of Vibron.

On December 4th 1973 the Christmas Dance was held at the Tudor Inn, previously called the Pineland Pavilion. The attendance was record at over 140 persons.

In January the meeting topic was "Fire and Smoke Control in High Rise Buildings". The discussion took the form of a panel with various speakers.

February's meeting was preceeded by a tour of the University of Ottawa Central Heating Plant. The evening meeting topic was the "Human Side of Control Monitoring" with speaker Bill Vaughan of the University of Ottawa.

Jacques Guenette of Volcano Ltd. was the speaker for March, his topic being "Thermal Liquid Systems". This invloved the use of mineral oils rather than water as a heat transfer medium.

In April the topic was "Chapter Regional Conference", because Ottawa was the host. This was held at the Skyline Hotel spanning April 17-20, 1974.

At May’s meeting the following slate of Officers were elected in by the members:
President - Rudolf Jetzelsperger
Vice-President - Charlie Hobbs
Secretary - Grant Wilson
Treasurer - Jim Black
Board of Governors - Gary Bugler, Bob McKee, Ralph Warring

Presumably, President Lorne Wilson turned over his office to the incoming president Rudy Jetzelsperger and thanked the executive for their assistance during the past year.
