Al Oakes Award of Excellence

The AL OAKES AWARD OF EXCELLENCE was established in memory of Past-President Al Oakes, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Ottawa Valley Chapter of ASHRAE.

*In the 2014-2015 Chapter Year, this award was renamed as the BAKER-OAKES AWARD OF EXCELLENCE, to also recognize the contributions of Past-President Paul Baker to the Chapter.

The award is presented to acknowledge a member's dedication and service to the chapter.

Stantec

In 2013 Stantec Ottawa move into the newly developed central location at 1331 Clyde Avenue. The new office building is a five-storey building with approximate 100,000 square feet gross floor area and ground floor retail spaces. Stantec occupied the office spaces from level 2 to level 5. The project is pursuing a LEED Gold level certification for commercial improvement (CI), furthering the sustainability goals of the company.

New construction of elementary school in Gatineau which included 18 classrooms, 3 kindergarten and day-care services spaces.  A gymnasium as well as a library is also part of the program along with a cafeteria and administrative spaces. The projects is currently undergoing LEED Silver certification. Project includes fresh-air heat recovery using the reverse flow system,  low temperature condensing boilers, low temperature radiant panel, low-flow plumbing fixtures, daylight harvesting lighting control and an active solar wall.
